Winking Studios, a prominent triple-A outsourcing company from Asia, has taken a significant step by acquiring China’s Mineloader. This deal is substantial, valued at £16.3 million, which is approximately $19.87 million. The structure of this transaction involves an initial payment of $14.7 million, with the remaining amount to be distributed over five years, contingent on Mineloader achieving certain performance targets.
Founded back in 2003, Mineloader has carved out a niche as an art outsourcing developer. This acquisition is a major milestone for Winking Studios, as highlighted by CEO and founder Johnny Jan. “It’s our largest acquisition to date, marking a critical advancement that strengthens our position in the global video games arena, and it opens up exciting opportunities for growth and innovation,” Jan explained.
Game art plays a crucial role in development, providing the visual essence and creative spark that captivates players and enhances their gaming journey. With Mineloader’s strong reputation and expertise in game art production, their team of more than 460 professionals will significantly bolster our existing workforce of over 800. This addition not only enriches our service capabilities in this area but also broadens our client base. Moreover, Mineloader’s well-established experience and presence in the Japanese market offer a substantial boost to our business networks.
