In a recent post on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit titled “Tarot Reader predicts Switch 2 reveal is imminent,” user Future31 claims a Famiboards moderator, Tangerine_Cookie, has performed a tarot reading. It seems this isn’t just any ordinary reading, as this user believes the same reader correctly forecasted the timing of the Metroid Prime 4 trailer in last June’s Direct. Their conclusion? The unveiling of the Switch 2 is just around the corner.
This might be hard to imagine, given the flood of rumors about supposed Switch 2 leaks these days. But Future31 points out that the tarot draw included The Five of Swords (Reversed), the Nine of Pentacles (Reversed), and the Four of Wands. According to this poster, these cards suggest themes such as “compromise, moving on, open to change, end of conflict,” “setbacks, poor investment, burning out, undeserved rewards,” and “celebration, prosperity, surprise, earned success and joy.”
From this, Future31 infers that a reveal is near. “The themes of compromise and ending conflict indicate that the long wait for the reveal is coming to an end,” they argue, “We’re shifting from speculation about the Switch 2 to finally enjoying it, moving onto our next subject of speculation.”
However, it hasn’t been smooth sailing! We know the Switch Pro was internally scrapped, and this generation’s lifecycle feels unusually prolonged. First-gen Switches are showing their age, and yet Nintendo still rakes in impressive sales with no new hardware—talk about undeserved rewards. That bit about poor investment? Maybe it’s tied to Samsung. That’s a possibility that seems to fit.
Pretty soon, we’ll be toasting to the launch of the Switch 2 with all the excitement and surprises its lineup will surely bring. This will undoubtedly be a triumph for Nintendo, both financially and in terms of success.
