Halfbrick Studios and Ian Fitz, the original mind behind The Thrill of the Fight (2016), have joyfully unveiled the much-anticipated sequel to their hit boxing simulation. This fresh chapter, The Thrill of the Fight 2, has just landed on Quest in its Early Access version.
Redesigned from the ground up, this sequel is now playable on various Quest headsets, including Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S, and Quest Pro. While the initial game focused entirely on PvE battles, this new release has fans buzzing with excitement as it introduces online PvP boxing—a feature many have been eagerly waiting for.
According to Halfbrick Studios, this early version comes solely with multiplayer modes. “We wanted to cater to our community’s demand for online competition right out of the gate,” a representative explained. However, there’s more to look forward to as single-player content and enhanced multiplayer features are in the works and will gradually be implemented throughout the Early Access phase.
Looking further ahead, the developers plan to keep updating the game well into 2025. Players can expect new single-player experiences featuring competitive AI with unique, dynamic behavior and appearances, additional training modules, and much more. An ongoing stream of updates will ensure the game continues to evolve, enriching the immersive boxing experience that fans expect.
As things stand, players can craft their own avatars and dive into online PvP battles, aided by a skill-based matchmaking system. The studio promises an authentic boxing experience, complete with physics that emulate real-world boxing. Plus, The Thrill of the Fight 2 offers a neat spectator mode, allowing friends to tune into your matches via a ‘live sports’ style camera on a linked PC.
For those ready to step into the ring, The Thrill of the Fight 2 is available right now on the Horizon Store for Quest at an inviting price of $10.
