As we wave goodbye to the PlayStation Vita, much like tears fading in the rain, a few of its beloved games are finding new life on current platforms. One such gem from 2012, the action RPG Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny, is set to make a comeback with a remaster release in the near future. Interestingly, even though it was once a PlayStation Vita exclusive, this remaster will skip PlayStation consoles and debut in the West for the first time instead.
PS Vita’s Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny, freshly remastered, will be available on platforms like the Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam starting May 22. Like any good remaster, this one aims to revitalize the classic with upgraded graphics, a sleek new user interface, additional gameplay mechanics, and—excitingly—an English localization making its debut.
The team behind Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny Remastered has also rolled out a host of quality-of-life enhancements to draw in modern players. Expect improvements in areas like tuning, mission choices, and a refined lock-on system. There’s a trailer available if you want to catch a glimpse of this revitalized fan favorite in action.
According to the game’s description, players will dive into turbulent times, picking one of three factions—Earth Alliance, Z.A.F.T., or Archangel—to ally with through missions inspired by iconic scenes from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. The game doesn’t stop there, offering side stories like Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73: Stargazer. With over a hundred mobile suits available, players can fine-tune their mechs to dominate in exhilarating Gundam showdowns.
For those PlayStation fans who also happen to own a Nintendo Switch or a gaming PC, it’s time to gear up. Preorders for the PC version are open, while Switch users will need to stay tuned for when preorders on that platform go live.
