Currently, Xbox Game Pass subscribers are eagerly anticipating the February 2025 lineup, which, at this point, only includes two confirmed titles. While new games are typically added throughout each month, the early January selection was somewhat sparse. However, subscribers have enjoyed a busier schedule in the latter half of the month.
In the back end of January 2025, Xbox Game Pass users have had access to a variety of engaging games, including some notable day-one releases. Titles like Eternal Strands have received positive feedback and have been available since their launch day on the service. Additionally, Sniper Elite: Resistance is slated for a January 30 release, with Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector concluding the month’s additions as a day one release on January 31.
With January wrapping up, players are understandably eager to see what February has in store. To date, only two games have been confirmed for the month on Xbox Game Pass. First up is Far Cry New Dawn, debuting on February 4. This 2019 spin-off of Far Cry 5 has received mixed reviews but offers an interesting continuation of its predecessor’s storyline. Meanwhile, the highlight of the February offerings is Avowed, the latest RPG from the renowned Obsidian Entertainment, arriving on February 18.

Avowed, published by Xbox Game Studios, has been eagerly awaited for years. While reminiscent of Skyrim in its gameplay style, it opts for expansive open zones rather than an entirely open world. Having played the opening hours, I’m excited by what the game promises, making it one of my most anticipated titles this year. We’ll have to wait and see if it lives up to expectations when it hits Xbox Game Pass.
Besides Avowed and Far Cry New Dawn, other games will become available on Xbox Game Pass in February 2025, though they remain unannounced. Given that Far Cry New Dawn was part of the January Wave 2 announcement, it’s likely that February announcements will align with its February 4 release date. Subscribers should stay tuned for updates and can look forward to marking their calendars for these two exciting releases.
