At the 2025 CES event, NVIDIA made an exciting announcement: its cloud gaming service, GeForce NOW, is expanding support to include Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3 and 3S, as well as Pico headsets.
However, this expansion doesn’t yet include VR-specific cloud gaming, so you won’t be diving into VR-native games just yet. Instead, you’ll have access to a wide array of standard games playable on platforms like Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and handheld devices.
If you’re using Vision Pro, Quest 3/S, or Pico headsets, you’ll soon be able to stream GeForce NOW games through browsers when the version 2.0.70 update hits later this month. NVIDIA promises we’ll get to experience everything the platform has to offer, including cutting-edge features like ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS. You’ll enjoy these features on a “massive virtual screen,” with support for gamepad-compatible titles.
For those curious about costs, GeForce NOW provides a range of options. You can try it for free with limited access or choose from various daily and monthly subscriptions for a higher-quality experience. The service boasts an impressive library of over 2,000 titles.
It’s worth noting that NVIDIA isn’t the pioneer in this arena. Pluto VR previously introduced its cloud gaming service to standalone VR devices with PlutoSphere on Quest. Sadly, it was removed in early 2024 due to Meta’s crackdown on unapproved streaming apps.
This crackdown didn’t deter everyone, as Microsoft successfully launched Xbox Cloud Gaming and the Game Pass library on Quest by late 2023. This move by NVIDIA signifies yet another step forward in integrating cloud gaming with VR technology.
