New Expansion Arrives for Free-To-Play Social VR Game Cards & Tankards This Month

Cards & Tankards, a popular free-to-play social VR card game, is gearing up for a brand-new expansion set to debut later this month. The game, created by Divergent Realities, has carved out a niche both on flatscreen platforms and virtual reality headsets. The upcoming expansion, titled ‘Ashes of Ur-Enku,’ is poised to add a wealth of new content, including 50 innovative cards, stunning diamond-animated versions, an array of fresh cosmetics, a revamped season pass, and essential balancing tweaks along with rank resets.

The setting for this expansion is the wild expanse of Ur-Enku, where players will follow the exploits of the Plundering Guild on a bold mission to hunt a forbidden fire. Their journey promises to reveal ancient Dwarven archives, buried beneath years of encroaching wilderness. These archives are said to document mysterious Aether experiments, an ancient and mighty force. In a dramatic twist, however, just one of these explorers will make it back to tell the tale, as noted by the developers.

Since its launch nearly two years ago, Cards & Tankards has seen an impressive array of updates. The latest major update was December’s Version 2.4, which came packed with numerous fixes. Before that, Version 2.3 made significant adjustments by rebalancing over half of the game’s existing cards. Earlier in March, fans were treated to ‘The Crusade of Sun & Stone’ expansion, and towards the end of 2023, an exciting ‘Ranked Mode’ was rolled out.
