Acer has just dropped a bombshell in the gaming world with the release of six new graphics cards in their Radeon RX 9070 series. With options that allow enthusiasts to reach boost clocks of up to 3.1 GHz, there’s plenty to be excited about.
In a recent reveal, Acer, one of AMD’s partners, presented its latest lineup of RDNA 4 GPUs. This includes the sleek BiFrost and the more consumer-oriented Nitro models. Although Acer hasn’t been a dominant force like some other AMD partners in the past, they’re certainly making their presence known this time with an impressive selection of six new models—three in each range.
Their new collection offers two Nitro editions, one for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and another for the Radeon RX 9070, alongside a BiFrost edition for each. The BiFrost models boast Acer’s superior design and cooling systems, while the Nitro versions are crafted for the regular gaming crowd but still come packed with noteworthy features.
Starting with BiFrost, the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16GB is a powerhouse, outfitted with a triple-fan cooling system wrapped in a stylish casing accented with silverfish details. It incorporates FrostBlade 4.0 fans with a counter-spin feature to enhance heat dissipation, spanning about 295 mm and occupying 2.5 slots. Out of the box, this card is factory-overclocked to reach speeds of 3.1 GHz, offering a top-notch gaming experience.
On the other hand, the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16GB sports a similar design but opts for two 8-pin power connectors instead of the three found on the XT. Despite this difference, both models claim a power requirement of 340W. Given the RX 9070’s typically lower energy needs, it might not have the same room for overclock potential as its XT counterpart.
Moving to the Nitro series, Acer offers both overclocked and standard models for the RX 9070 range. The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC mimics the BiFrost’s measurements and power needs, using a tri-fan design, achieving up to 3.1 GHz in boost clock, and maintaining that hefty 340W TDP with three 8-pin connectors. Its sibling, the non-OC Nitro RX 9070 XT, runs at 304W while also boasting three 8-pin connectors. Without overclocking potential, it can still rev up to a considerable 2970 MHz in boost and 2.4 GHz during gameplay.
Completing the lineup, the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and RX 9070 16GB versions max out at 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz respectively, with the OC variant drawing 245W and the non-OC at 220W—both sharing a similar look.
While Acer hasn’t spilled the beans on every price tag, they’ve made it known that the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16GB will set you back a hefty $829.99. Anticipate that the BiFrost models might be priced even steeper. As for release dates, they remain a mystery for some, but gamers in the U.S. can expect the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC to appear in April.
