In an exciting announcement, BouncyBrain has revealed that they’re working on a new game, Full Steam: Fluffy X Machina, set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch.
Get ready to join forces against the notorious Krok Inc. in this roguelite beat ’em up adventure. You’ll be piloting critters and their formidable mechs in a thrilling quest to dismantle an evil megacorporation within a distinctly diesel-punk world.
The game promises to deliver "groundbreaking, mech-based combat" which can be enjoyed solo or with a friend in co-op mode. Imagine a fascinating blend of Castle Crashers, TitanFall, and Super Mario 3D World, offering a unique twist on familiar gameplay styles.
Notably, there’s also an engaging player-versus-player mode, inspired by the classic Super Smash Bros. series. This mode allows up to four players to battle it out across a variety of arenas.
Guy Bareli, the game director who brought to life animated hits like Minions, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Kung Fu Panda 3, shares, “We wanted Full Steam to capture the heart and excitement of our favorite animated films and bring it into the indie gaming space.”
Here are some key features you can look forward to:
-
Go Tiny or Go Mech: Switch between playing as a cute but deadly critter or summon your powerful mech. Each scenario demands a different strategy.
-
Roguelite Progression: Each run feels refreshingly different with random mech upgrades, diverse weapons, items, and varied enemy mobs.
-
Unlockable Mechs: Completes runs to access various mechs, each offering unique playstyles and signature moves. Choose from options like Brawler, Long Range, Mobile Fortress, Ninja, and beyond.
-
Single Player / Co-Op Play: Call in NPC teammates or team up with friends and family—you’ll definitely appreciate the extra help.
- PvP: Enter the Sparring Arena with up to four players and see who comes out on top!
