Experiencing the fun of emoting in Fortnite is hard to beat. Whether you’re pulling off the griddy dance as a beloved cartoon character or grooving to a Chappell Roan tune, emotes have been an essential part of enjoying this game. While emotes remain a staple, the developers have thrown a curveball in the latest Chapter 6 Season 1 map. There’s now a quirky spot that’ll boot your character out of the game if you decide to emote too close to it.
The latest update, Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1: Hunters, rolls out a map and loot features that draw inspiration from Japan. You can square off against Godzilla and then bounce off walls and ledges like you’re an anime ninja. Apart from these thrilling features, the developers snuck in a tiny yet cheeky addition to the map. A place now exists where emoting comes with a hefty penalty.
The trick to finding this spot is heading to the mountain just northwest of Foxy Floodgate. Make your way about halfway down the hill, and you’ll spot a sign and traffic barriers overlooking a picturesque view. If you see a sprite shrine nearby, you’re in the right area. A warning sign with a Fortnite figure busting a move, crossed out in red, tells you all you need to know. Dare to emote there, and your character gets hilariously flung into oblivion. There’s a clip of it happening below for you to check out.
Fortnite loves to keep things fresh yet familiar with its whimsical charm. Its playful nature continues to surprise, even as characters from Dragon Ball and Avatar: The Last Airbender rock Nike gear. It’s the little jokes like this that keep the game interesting and fun.
