Game Source Entertainment and Tokyo Virtual Theory (TVT) are thrilled to announce their captivating new rhythm roguelike action game, Ratatan, set to launch on the Nintendo Switch.
This game is seen as a spiritual successor to the much-adored Patapon series from Japan Studio and Pyramid. Ratatan unfolds its story on the vibrant island of Rataport. Unlike the calmness of the surrounding sea, Rataport is described as being as energetic as a toy box. Here, you’ll meet Ratatan, an intriguing animal-like creature, who is living a jubilant life with its companions, the Cobun.
Although each of these characters has its own unique look and personality, they are united by a single, shared dream: to reach The Everafter and encounter The Goddess believed to reside there. No matter how often they stumble, their persistent hope of meeting her drives them forward.
Hiroyuki Kotani, known for his work as the producer of the Patapon series, is collaborating on the development of this game. Players will step into the shoes of Ratatan, using magical instruments in time with the music to issue commands to the Cobun armies to combat enemies. Nail the rhythm sequences perfectly, and you will trigger Fever Mode, where the background music dynamically shifts, and characters execute various unique actions.
Ratatan is anticipated to make its digital debut on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch globally in 2025.
