PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are definitely in for some excitement this year. As things stand, the service is gearing up to add four new games to its Game Catalog perk upon their respective launches. Among them is Remedy Entertainment’s FBC: Firebreak, a multiplayer first-person shooter that has just teased a new release window for the summer of 2025.
FBC: Firebreak takes place in The Oldest House, the very headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control, which players might remember from the critically acclaimed action game, Control. However, this time Remedy Entertainment is departing from their usual story-rich escapades to focus squarely on gameplay mechanics. They also aim to craft a live-service game, steering clear of the typical FOMO elements that define the genre. Notably, all the content that players can explore will be available for free and can be tackled at any pace the player prefers.
The recently released trailer showcases the Paper Chase Job, just one of the many missions FBC: Firebreak will offer. Here, the Firebreak Initiative is tasked with cleaning up a part of The Oldest House overrun with pesky rogue sticky notes. The trailer also gives a glimpse of the various loadouts that players can use as they work to fend off the ever-looming threat of the Hiss.
Upon release, FBC: Firebreak will be accessible on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC through both the Epic Games Store and Steam.
This game is just one out of four that will be available in the Game Catalog right from the get-go. Other titles announced include Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Blue Prince, and Abiotic Factor. For those itching to dive in, the first part of Lost Records is already available for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, with its sequel set to arrive next month.
Additionally, PS Plus members are granted early access to the PS Store’s Spring Sale. It’s a great chance for subscribers to snag awesome deals on popular games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
