Dark Passenger, a game development studio from Poland, has just secured a $3 million boost in funding. This promising venture was launched by a team of veterans from CD Projekt and received investment primarily from The Games Fund, with additional backing from Blite Fund. The fresh capital injection is earmarked for Dark Passenger’s debut game, a stealthy, third-person multiplayer action adventure set against the rich backdrop of feudal Japan.
Jakub Ben, the CEO of Dark Passenger, expressed his enthusiasm about the evolving multiplayer scene, stating, “There’s so much potential yet to be explored in multiplayer gaming. To truly grasp where we’re headed, it takes a mixture of creativity, confidence, and a clear vision—traits we’ve found in The Games Fund.”
He went on to describe how the investment is transforming their journey: “This really changes the game for us—expanding our team and laying a strong foundation for our project so we can concentrate on bringing it to life.”
Echoing his excitement, Ilia Eremeev, co-founder of The Games Fund, shared his take on the current gaming landscape. “There’s a real gap in the market for games that aren’t afraid to take bold leaps and offer players that exhilarating ‘Hell yeah!’ moment. After checking out Dark Passenger’s initial demo, it was clear they’re prepared to offer just that.”
He was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the game considering the team’s size and the short development period. “From the get-go, we were on board with their vision—a thrilling, pure power fantasy. We’re absolutely delighted to join these talented founders on their exciting journey.”
