CD Projekt RED has announced that they are introducing Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) as a key part of their strategy to bring Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition to the Nintendo Switch 2. They shared these details with Digital Foundry, explaining that the game employs DLSS using Nvidia’s Tensor cores to optimize its performance across different play modes, whether handheld or docked, and in various quality settings.
The studio elaborated on their technical goals, revealing they aim for a 1080p resolution in docked quality and performance modes, as well as in handheld quality mode, while targeting 720p for handheld performance mode.
In Cyberpunk 2077, players will dive into the gritty role of V, a cyber-enhanced mercenary striving to make a mark in the grim future world. The game unfolds in the sprawling Night City, and players can enjoy both the core storyline and the suspenseful Phantom Liberty expansion with its spy-thriller narrative.
The game is designed to make the most of each unique play style Nintendo Switch 2 offers. It includes options for motion controls during combat and a Gyroscope Mode for greater accuracy. Players can also navigate menus by tapping, swiping, or pinching, or take advantage of mouse-like controls using the Joy-Con 2 (R).
Scheduled for a retail and digital release on the Nintendo eShop, Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is set to launch on June 5, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch 2.
