Rebecka Coutaz, who has been steering the ship at DICE as their General Manager, is taking on a bigger role by also leading Criterion, a renowned UK game development team.
According to a report from GI.biz, Coutaz has accepted the position of Vice President and General Manager of Battlefield Studios Europe. Criterion has been significantly involved with EA’s hallmark shooter, contributing since the release of Battlefield 1 back in 2016. They’re set to continue collaborating alongside Motive and Ripple Effect over in the US.
Coutaz initially joined DICE in November 2021, bringing her leadership experience from managing Ubisoft’s Annecy studio. “Working at DICE since 2021 has been a remarkable journey alongside an incredibly talented and diverse group,” Coutaz expressed. “I feel deeply honored to step into this expanded role. It’s an exciting chance to guide two legendary studios, both brimming with rich histories and unique identities.
“DICE and Criterion have been trailblazers in the European gaming scene, and I aim to empower our teams to innovate and elevate the gaming experience for our players.
