Have you ever wondered just how much a dedicated PC gamer might save by subscribing to PC Game Pass? If you’re anything like me, this thought might have crossed your mind. Well, the numbers are in, and they’re pretty impressive. In 2024 alone, the total value of games added to the service was nearly $5,000.
This insight comes from Jamie Hore at PCGamesN. He tallied all 137 games introduced to the service in 2024, checked their prices at the time of addition, and calculated that their combined total reached a whopping $4,812.63. To put that into perspective, subscribing to PC Game Pass for a year costs about $143. That’s a significant chunk of change kept in your wallet.
Of course, there are conditions to consider. These savings assume you’re quick to download every new game as it appears on the service. And naturally, you only really benefit from the games you actually play. For instance, the chance to play Starfield and save $30 might not sway someone like me unless there’s a bit more incentive.
Even so, the potential savings are supported by tangible data. Looking at the monthly breakdown in the PCGamesN piece, April stands out as a highlight, with 17 titles added to PC Game Pass, five debuting on their very first day. December, conversely, was underwhelming with just six additions, despite two being day-one releases. Yet even in less active months like December, subscribers could potentially save $214.94, which isn’t too bad!
So, does this perspective change how you feel about PC Game Pass? Does it make subscribing feel like a no-brainer, or do you find yourself yearning for last year’s deal? Or are you the kind of gamer who sails free on a pirate’s breeze, indifferent to subscription savings? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below!
