Capcom has just confirmed some exciting news for fans eagerly awaiting the release of its new action RPG. When Monster Hunter Wilds hits shelves on February 28, 2025, it will come with enhanced features tailored for the PS5 Pro right from the start. While Capcom hasn’t gone into detail about these enhancements just yet, they have revealed the target specs for console graphics and resolution.
Monster Hunter Wilds Adds to the Expanding Line-Up of PS5 Pro Enhanced Titles
In a recent community update ahead of the game’s launch, Capcom disclosed that the regular PS5 version of Monster Hunter Wilds will offer two display modes: ‘Prioritize Graphics’ and ‘Prioritize Framerate.’ If you opt for graphics, you’ll see a resolution of 3840 x 2160 or 3072 x 1728 with 30 frames per second. On the other hand, choosing to prioritize framerate will deliver 3840 x 2160 or 1920 x 1080 at a brisk 60 frames per second.
Capcom also took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to assure fans that they’ve been addressing the rendering issues identified in the Open Beta Test. They promised steady improvements leading up to the official launch.
Monster Hunter Wilds did encounter some bumps in the road during its open beta phase. Particularly, the PC version faced substantial challenges in performance. In the past, Capcom faced similar hurdles with the PS5 performance of Dragon’s Dogma 2, where the patch for PS5 Pro didn’t quite hit the mark. However, this time around, they are intent on smooth sailing for Monster Hunter Wilds with proactive work on the PS5 Pro enhancements, ensuring they have ample time to iron out any lingering issues before the big day.
