Gaijin Entertainment, the team famous for War Thunder since its debut in 2013, is gearing up to release its next aerial adventure, Aces of Thunder, for PSVR 2 and PC VR headsets. Gamers can expect this thrilling experience to arrive sometime this year.
Originally announced in 2023, Aces of Thunder was slated for a late 2024 release. The game is set to introduce a lineup of some of the most iconic aircraft from World War history on SteamVR and PSVR 2.
Gaijin has already teased us with an array of planes, starting with the classics from the WWII era, and now they’re adding a selection from the days of WWI. It’s an exciting mix of historical aviation.
The studio promises an immersive experience with legendary fighters like the Fokker Dr.I, renowned for being the Red Baron’s choice, and the SPAD S.XIII, favored by the esteemed René Fonck, an ace of the Allies. These planes will showcase authentically detailed cockpits, historically accurate weaponry, and realistic flight dynamics, setting the stage for a truly engaging gameplay experience.
In addition to these marvels from WWI, the game will also feature an array of WWII aircraft. Expect to pilot American legends like the P-51 Mustang and P-63 Kingcobra, the German Bf 109 and Fw 190, the Soviet IL-2, the British Spitfire, and the agile Japanese A6M3 Zero.
While the exact release date remains under wraps, Gaijin has hinted to Road to VR that Aces of Thunder is now aiming for a 2025 launch. If you’re eager to get your hands on this game, it’s already available to wishlist on Steam and the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2.
Currently, there’s no word on pricing, but we’ve got our ears to the ground for any updates about Aces of Thunder. Stay tuned, because this aerial combat game is set to be a high-flying experience you won’t want to miss!
