NVIDIA and AMD are gearing up for a big showdown in the world of affordable graphics cards, with plans to roll out new models this May.
As gamers look for wallet-friendly options, NVIDIA and AMD are stepping into the ring with their upcoming models. Recent reports suggest that both companies are set to launch new graphics cards next month, aiming to grab the attention of everyday users.
NVIDIA, often referred to as Team Green, is preparing to introduce the GeForce RTX 5060 on May 19. This card will boast 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, running at a speed of 28 Gbps over a 128-bit memory bus. Notably, it will consume more power, with a 35W increase in thermal design power over the RTX 4060. Here’s a quick look at some changes:
– 25% more CUDA cores
– Same memory size
– Faster 28 Gbps GDDR7 memory
– 64% more bandwidth
– 30% higher power rating
Meanwhile, AMD is ready to showcase the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex on May 21, though you might have to wait until June to purchase one. This card will feature the Navi 44 die, with a 128-bit interface available in both 8GB and 16GB versions. It houses 2,048 shader processors, half that of its bigger sibling, the RX 9070 XT, and boasts game clocks of 2620 MHz with boost clocks reaching 3230 MHz. If you game at 1080p or 2K, this card promises to deliver a strong performance.
