Players diving into Assassin’s Creed Shadows on the PS5 Pro have something to look forward to with the game offering Performance, Fidelity, and Balanced modes for enhanced graphical experiences. Moreover, fans got a tantalizing glimpse of 20 minutes of gameplay footage. After a series of delays, this much-anticipated game is set to finally hit the shelves on March 20.
Set against the backdrop of feudal Japan, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the latest offering from Ubisoft that continues to expand its historical action series. In this iteration, players will navigate the intertwined tales of Yasuke, a samurai inspired by an actual historical figure, and Naoe, a female shinobi on a quest for vengeance following the slaughter of her family.
With the game’s release date approaching, Ubisoft is pulling back the curtain to reveal more about what players can expect when they embark on this journey through ancient Japan. Details on weapon customization and story progression have started to emerge, emphasizing the option to play as either Yasuke or Naoe, each offering their own unique gameplay experience. Yasuke leans towards direct combat, while Naoe embodies the stealthy and acrobatic approach reminiscent of classic Assassin’s Creed characters.
Recently, Ubisoft shared a gameplay trailer that delves into how these differing playstyles function. Available on PlayStation’s official YouTube channel, the footage showcases the contrasts in combat, stealth, and navigation techniques between Yasuke and Naoe. Complementing this are new technical details unveiled by PlayStation, highlighting exclusive enhancements available on the PS5 Pro, including three specialized graphics modes tailored for this advanced console version.
The PS5 Pro’s Performance Mode is designed for smoother framerates, integrating Standard Ray Tracing while running at 60 FPS with an upscaled 2160p resolution. On the other hand, the Fidelity Mode prioritizes graphical richness, presenting an upscaled resolution of 2160p at 30 FPS, enhanced with Extended Ray Tracing for superior global illumination and reflections. For players equipped with a 120/240hz display and HDMI 2.1, the Balanced Mode offers a middle ground with 2160p upscaled resolution, 40 FPS, and refined Ray Tracing features.
As the first title crafted exclusively for the ninth generation of consoles, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is already turning heads with its stunning visuals. When it launches on March 20, the enhancements available on the PlayStation 5 Pro are set to elevate the visual splendor of Yasuke and Naoe’s quest across the dramatic landscapes of feudal Japan.
