The Pokémon Company International has officially announced the release date for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) expansion titled Scarlet and Violet – Journey Together, exciting both veteran players and newcomers alike.
This expansion marks the return of Trainer’s Pokémon cards, a concept first introduced in the Pokémon TCG: Gym Heroes set. These unique cards capture the profound bond between a Pokémon Trainer and their Pokémon, with the trainer’s name prominently featured on each card, making them a nostalgic homage and a thrilling addition to the collection.
Collectors and players can look forward to various card rarities in this expansion, including illustration rare, ultra-rare, special illustration rare, and hyper rare Trainer’s Pokémon cards. Among these, coveted cards like N’s Zoroark ex, Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Iono’s Bellibolt ex, and Hop’s Zacian ex are sure to be highly sought after.
The expansion boasts a comprehensive lineup, featuring four Trainer’s Pokémon ex, sixteen Pokémon ex, eleven rare illustration Pokémon, six special illustration rare Pokémon, and three hyper rare gold etched cards.
Scarlet and Violet – Journey Together will be available through booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and exclusive collections at the Pokémon Center online and various retailers worldwide, giving everyone a chance to join in the excitement. Pre-orders are already live at the Pokémon Center for fans in the UK, US, and Canada. Highlights of the pre-order offerings include the Scarlet and Violet – Journey Together Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box and an Enhanced Booster Display Box, which comes with a bonus illustration rare-style card showcasing N’s Reshiram adorned with the set’s logo.
Mark your calendars: starting from March 15, 2025, the Play! Pokémon program will host pre-release tournaments, providing participants an early opportunity to experience the new cards in action before the official launch.
Additionally, beginning March 27, 2025, enthusiasts can take their battles online with the Scarlet and Violet – Journey Together set via the Pokémon TCG Live app, compatible with iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows devices.
