As the festive season approached, gamers prepared for a surprise. They were indulging in late-night Xbox sessions when a sudden notification popped up on their consoles: a new system update was ready to roll out. Filled with fixes and new features, it was a welcome addition, and soon after downloading it, players could dive back into their virtual battles against in-game adversaries.
Hold onto your hats, Insiders, because we’ve got a short but spirited update for the community! First and foremost, we want to extend our warmest holiday wishes to everyone, hoping you have a joyful season and a fantastic New Year! Personally, I’m no fan of those long, dark nights and bone-chilling weather, yet it seems those are unavoidable every year. However, they bring charming sweater weather, making it perfect to huddle up indoors and get lost in Xbox gaming.
This holiday season, just like in previous years, we’ve paused the release of preview builds on both console and PC. This is to ensure that everyone can enjoy Xbox during the holidays without a hitch. But don’t worry, the team is busy working on future updates! We’re still paying attention to your feedback and are here to tackle any issues that might crop up.
Remember to keep an eye on the Insider Hub during December and January for fresh content!
From Our Team to You
A big thank you to every one of you for making this community truly special. I’m genuinely proud to be part of the Xbox Insider Program, and I want you to know how much we appreciate your support and involvement.
Before I wrap up, I thought I’d share what some team members are up to during this busy month—be it gaming, relaxing, or anything else they’d like to mention. Here are their thoughts:
- Jon: My goal? To finish "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" and dive into the "Ode to Castlevania" DLC for Vampire Survivors.
- Joshua: I’m excited to rewatch all the classic holiday movies and really plunge into "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle."
- Tim: I’m a sucker for challenge, and I’ll be playing through Nine Sols. I also look forward to family time since some relatives are flying in for the holidays.
- Donovan: I can’t wait to spend time with my family, dive into Path of Exile 2, and of course, watch nostalgic Christmas movies to get into the holiday spirit.
- Sally: Looking forward to munching on cookies, getting cozy with some games, and hopefully seeing new PowerWash Simulator DLC. Plus, quality time with family and friends is a must!
- Leland: Throughout the year, I start story-driven games but often save them for later. Only two stay on my list until mid-December hits, and then I immerse myself completely. It’s my favorite time and I’m thrilled for it!
As for me, I’ve wrapped up the Black Ops 6 camo grind and I feel ready to dive into the game properly! I also plan on tackling all the achievements for Aliens: Dark Descent, and I’ll be battling Jack Frost, ensuring my geese’s pond doesn’t freeze over.
What about you? We’re eager to hear what you’re up to this month—whether it’s the games you’re loving or your holiday plans. Head over to our subreddit, where the December Community Update post awaits, pinned right at the top. I’ll be stopping by throughout the month as ScantilyCloud to chat and answer your questions. Feel free to throw in any game recommendations from 2024 too, as backlogs can never be too packed!
