So, Boxing Day has swung around, and if I could give a playful jab to a few game developers, I would.
Last week flew by and we missed a couple of things. Quilts and Cats of Calico, a former Indie darling, popped up unexpectedly, and North American gamers got a fresh taste of bullet hell with Dodonpachi Saidaioujou. Oh, and for retro enthusiasts, Taito’s Warrior Blade also debuted in the Archives.
Here’s my holiday setup: nestled in my parent’s place—practically in the wilderness. With internet speeds resembling a snail’s pace, this meant gaming updates took an eternity. Adding to the frustration, there was not a single game with even a hint of excitement on the eShop radar. Meanwhile, Europe flaunts a collection of games from various publishers, albeit with eerily similar screenshots. I think North America got the correct version a while back, but who’s counting? Anyway…
Merry Christmas, joyful Hanukkah, or whatever you find yourself celebrating. May it be filled with good times. And fingers crossed, perhaps Nintendo’s heart will grow three sizes, and they’ll fix this mess. Until next week, folks.

Europe Stands Out
Games such as Restaurant Tycoon, Paw Paw Destiny, and Star Trek: Legends are making waves across the pond. Europe also has Cats vs Dogs Military Mission and Pet Kawaii Shop on offer.
In addition to those, there’s some quirky titles like Meow Moments and various puzzle games to keep your strategic mind sharp over the holidays.
Japan Enters the Arena
Japan isn’t one to be left behind either. Restaurant Tycoon is priced at ¥4680 and titles like The Owl Lurking in the Dusk are pursuing your yen. Trench Shooter: Warfare Tactics is also making an entry at ¥1999, with an array of other goods ranging from shooters to festive-themed adventures.
No matter where you are, there’s something new to dive into. Here’s to hoping your gaming sessions are as entertaining as they are plentiful.
