The renowned Japanese developer, Tango Gameworks, is contemplating creating a follow-up to their 2023 release, Hi-Fi Rush. In a conversation with IGN, Colin Mack, the head of the studio, mentioned that while they are indeed considering the idea, they are not yet ready to announce any concrete plans for a sequel.
“We’re looking at the possibility of a sequel in a positive light,” Colin shared with IGN. “However, we’re not at a point where we can definitively say, ‘This is what’s coming next.’”
Adding to the discussion, Hi-Fi Rush’s director, John Johanas, expressed enthusiasm for the project. “There’s a lot of love for Hi-Fi Rush among our team,” he noted. “That passion definitely opens up a world of possibilities for us. At the moment, we’re exploring our options and weighing different opportunities.”
On another note, project manager Kazuaki Egashira shed light on what sets Tango apart. He explained how the studio thrives by consistently pursuing fresh experiences. “While Hi-Fi Rush has established itself as a beloved new IP, sticking to the same formula indefinitely could lead it to become stale,” Egashira observed.
“Tango Gameworks is all about embracing new challenges,” he continued. “I am hopeful that we can keep that spirit alive, making sure our developers remain central to our endeavors, and continuing with the same passion that defines us.”
