Since Iron Meat took the gaming world by storm in September, the talented team over at Retroware hasn’t been resting on their laurels. They’ve been busy plotting some exciting new updates for this modern take on retro gaming!
If you’re playing on Xbox, get ready for the first big update that’s packed with fresh experiences waiting for you.
Mirror, Mirror
Among the top fan requests, Retroware has delivered Mirror Mode. This neat feature lets you replay all the game’s levels, but this time in reverse. Shifting the x-axis changes everything—each enemy, boss, and level section now offers a new challenge. You’ll unlock this mode once you’ve completed the game on any difficulty.
Red Rapid Fire
Introducing the automatic Supercharge upgrade, which is essentially a third tier for your weapon enhancements. With Supercharge, your projectiles switch to a fierce red hue, showing off your newfound power. Got weapons fully upgraded with green projectiles? Snag another copy, and voilà—you’re armed with Rapid Fire’s might.
My 1UPs, Thank You
Great news for players: any extra lives you rack up in one level now carry over to the next. So, if you finish a stage with more lives than you started, they’re yours to keep!
Visual Enhancements to Level Backgrounds
We’ve enhanced backgrounds across several levels, adding details that tie into Iron Meat’s story. New scenes like helicopter attacks on Forest and explosive impacts on Train not only enrich the narrative but visually captivate players.
Other Updates
Beyond squashing bugs, we’ve amped up the default damage for the “E,” “U,” and “M” guns, added more Meat on the Moon Base, and refined helicopter boss battle patterns for clarity. Plus, certain levels have adjustments to make them fairer—like now-killable Meat worms and doors.
This update is just a taste of what Retroware has planned for Iron Meat in the future, and we’re eager to share more as new content rolls out. Iron Meat is a thrilling rollercoaster of an action game you can dive into right now!
Iron Meat, available for $19.99, pulls you into a fast-paced, run-and-gun shooter world dominated by The Meat. Using a classic arcade vibe, you’ll blast through hordes of grotesque enemies across nine brutally entertaining levels. Whether going solo or teaming up with a friend for two-player couch co-op, take down evil, style it up with 30+ unlockable skins, and enjoy the carnage.
